Following completion of arts and law degrees at the University of Queensland and commencing practice as a Queensland solicitor in 1982, Michael has assisted in closing thousands of transactions in the areas of commercial, property and body corporate law. Michael is a consultant at McBride Legal where he provides a depth of expertise in contract negotiation, corporate governance, commercial real estate, body corporate law, property dispute resolution, real estate development and planning law. In addition to being recognised in the Best Lawyers list in 2021 and 2022, Michael is a part time lecturer for the College of Law and a director of not-for-organisations – The Chain Reaction Foundation and Southern Cross Soloists Ltd.

Leyu manages commercial and property transactions from commencement through to settlement for developers, property owners, investors and businesses, and supports our senior lawyers on estate matters, including for clients structuring their estate planning after acquiring property. She takes a practical, proactive and detail-focused approach, keeping matters progressing efficiently and giving clients a responsive, seamless experience.
